Leading St. Clair for the past three seasons has been senior and he's an athletic wing being looked at the hardest by three area schools. His team is 12-12 on the season but focusing hard on the playoffs.
"The season is going well for us this year although we have had some tough loses but are looking to go deep in the playoffs," explained Adams. "Our goal all along was to continue getting better throughout the year and we are doing that. We have a big conference tournament coming up that we need to play good in."
It's been an up and down year for the Cyclones. They started with a pair of tough losses to J-W-P and Maple River before rebounding to win four straight including the J-W-P Tournament in mid-December. Since that point they have had three game winning streaks, three game losing streaks, and their current two game bender.
St. Clair is only .500 but they still have a shot in sections. In their portion of section 2A-South St. Clair has the third best record of the ten teams and they have shown they can compete with Mankato Loyola. Earlier in the year the Cyclones lost by nine and Adams had to sit most the game in foul trouble.
Adams is an agile player who rebounds extremely well. He's extremely tough to keep off the offensive glass and he makes St. Clair a good running and rebounding squad. "I am averaging 17 points, four assists, nine rebounds, and three blocks," Adams explained.
Playing with the Minnesota Glory this past spring and summer as well as his years with St. Clair have provided him with the attention he has needed to gain college attention. "Waldorf College, Dakota Wesley, and Bethany are the main three schools looking at me," stated Adams.
Sam is the team captain at St Clair and he averaged 16 points, four rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three blocks per game last season. He shot 57 percent from the floor, 43 percent from three-point land, and 79 percent the free throw line. This will also be the third straight season that Adams will be honored with All-Conference regards.
